We investigate the mechanisms driving the development of cortical circuits using in vivo 2-photon microscopy, behavioural assessments, and computational modelling.

Based at the Hospital del Mar Research Institute Barcelona (HMRIB), our group focuses on understanding the mechanisms driving the development of cortical circuits. Our work examines the formation of circuits involving the cortex, during critical periods of development, with the aim of understanding how disruptions during these periods are linked to neurodevelopmental disorders.
By connecting basic neuroscience and clinical applications, our lab investigates the formation of cortical circuits in health and disease using advanced techniques, such as in vivo two-photon microscopy, viral tracing, mathematical modelling, and behavioural assessments.
